These certificates are highly subsidized through funding by the Government of Canada and Upskill Canada, powered by Palette Skills.  All applicants are welcome to apply for financial aid. Only applicants with demonstrable financial need will be eligible for a limited number of awards to reduce the financial burden of completing the certificate.

Participants must engage in technical skills and job readiness sessions for the entire 16-week certificate. For our team to be confident connecting participants to employment opportunities, it is essential for us to be able to assess your technical skills across all topics. Our Employment Specialist must also be able to assess your job readiness, and whether your resume will lead you to career success.

Participants who cannot demonstrate their technical skills development through the successful completion of our technical assessments or have not demonstrated their job readiness through engagement with our programming, may not receive the certificate and/or the associated benefits of completion, including invitations to networking events.

Due to the structure of the certificates, participants may only complete one certificate with the DSI.

Both the technical skills and the job readiness sessions are delivered in a fully online, synchronous format, with recordings available after the sessions.

Participants who complete the certificate through engagement in both technical and job readiness skills development will be invited to networking opportunities to engage with prospective employers. These opportunities will be a mix of in-person and online activities.

The certificates programming is demanding. Participants must attend synchronous technical skills sessions for about 10 hours per week. These sessions will have homework and assessments designed to create opportunities to apply newly learned skills and to assess participants’ learning. Our team expects homework commitments to be about 7 hours of additional time, depending on participant experience and familiarity with the topics.

Our course support team offers optional sessions to address questions and go over homework before and after each session for 4 hours per week. Lastly, over the 16 weeks, there will be an additional 20 hours of job readiness programming.

These sessions occur primarily on weekday evenings with some programming on Saturday mornings.

Due to the nature and pace of the certificates, it is important that participants attend the sessions and complete assessments on time. New topics are introduced weekly, so participants must be able to engage fully in the program.

Yes. Participants can receive the T2202 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate.

Participants must successfully complete the assessments as part of the technical skills sessions. Participants who miss a significant number of sessions and do not successfully complete technical assessments, and/or the mandatory job readiness activities, may not receive the certificate and/or the associated benefits of completion, including invitations to networking events.
