DSI Data Science Certificate
Transform your skills and your future

On a global scale, society is experiencing a transformative shift in the production, collection, and use of data. There is a significant demand for data science expertise. Organizations need skilled professionals, capable of working with large amounts of data to uncover useful insights and define the story hidden in the numbers. This could be you!

This fall, the Data Sciences Institute at the University of Toronto is launching a Data Science Certificate, designed to help professionals succeed in careers where data science skills are increasingly in demand. Learners do not need a degree in data science or any previous technical experience. Anyone with a degree in a field outside of computer science or statistics is welcome.

Courses include:

  • Data Science Foundations (Introduction to Unix Shell, Git, and GitHub)
  • Introduction to R
  • Introduction to Python
  • Data Storage & Access (Introduction to SQL)
  • Sampling
  • Estimation, Testing and Learning
  • Visualization
  • Causal Inference

You can take one course to improve your skills in a particular area, or complete 6 out of the 8 courses, including Data Science Foundations, to earn the DSI Data Science Certificate.

Each course is offered remotely and will run over three weeks for a total of 21 hours.

Stay tuned for further information and registration details coming in September.
