As part of its commitment to building a community and a data sciences research network across the University of Toronto and with external partners, the DSI sponsors networking activities and discipline-specific data sciences programming. These include trainee social events and job-seeker networks at all three campuses to help connect the University of Toronto (U of T) data science community and to help prepare DSI trainees for various data-related careers.
Whenever possible, DSI events will be recorded and posted for later viewing to enhance equity, education, and access.

An institution-wide job-seekers network assists trainees and early-career researchers in seeking employment in academia and industry through informational career sessions as well as assistance with writing job applications, leveraging skill sets, and preparing for interviews.
